The Kraken:

Hand Painted Skateboard

This Is Reincarnated Art!

I call it that because I’m this current world we are not only looking for away to bring a more integrated relationship with the environment by recycling and reusing as much as we can. So during the pandemic I decided it was time to re-paint some old old items of mine that were just sitting around the house and give them new life. This is the first piece in that set and the first step towards my latest products. This step will include pieces made by myself as Wellers commission pieces if there is anybody out there who so chooses to join me in this mission. This piece is a representation of the first tier of the product which I’m calling “Minimal”.

The Mission:

To reduce waste and the strain on the planet by slowing down fast fashion and reincarnate the world’s forgotten items with art.

To bring new life to old and discarded things.

To use art to show our respects to Mother Nature through art and the way in which we approach making art.

In short;

“To make art today to change tomorrow”

“Generally, Buddhists believe that there is no beginning to birth and that once we achieve liberation from the cycle of existence by overcoming our karma and destructive emotions, we will not be reborn under the sway of these conditions.”

- The Dalai Lama

The Kraken is the first experiment in the Reincarnated Art movement painted in acrylics on an upcycled skateboard. It captures the essence of the mythical sea creature known for its massive size and fearsome power. The painting features eight intricate tentacles reaching up into an abyss that resembles the stars in the night sky and/or the splashes of the ocean.

Each tentacle is crafted with meticulous detail, showcasing a blend of Purples and Oranges that create a stunning contrast against the Deep Teal background of the skateboard. The tentacles are adorned with mesmerizing gold outlines invoking the royalty and regality of the mighty Kraken.

The abyss in the background of the painting is created with a stunning blend of deep blues and teals, creating a sense of deep mystery and wonder. The stars, rendered in white, seem to twinkle and dance against the dark background, providing a sense of movement and energy.

Overall, The Kraken is a breathtaking work of art that seamlessly blends upcycling and artistic expression. It is a testament to the power of creativity and the beauty that can be found in unexpected places.
