The Top 8 Must Listen Episodes of Making Lemonade with Jordan Morpeth - 2020 Edition
Making Lemonade has been running for 100 episodes and in celebration of that, I have decided to take a look back at my top 10 favourite episodes over the past almost 2 years of being the host of this podcast.
This was not an easy task as I have many favourite episodes but more than anything, the criteria I decided to vet these 10 favourite episodes on, were the podcasts I got the most out off, as far as personal growth or simply the conversation I had with a guest or with you guys and gals out there.
These are in no particular order, the numbers are just to keep it concise.
1. #45. Created to Create w/ Colin Sclicht (@artbycollin)
I chose this episode as this was my second overseas guest and the first guest I was able to have on the podcast, who I not only admire, but previously had no relationship with.
Along with this Colin was so gracious with me and happily answered my questions, with great depth and vulnerability, it opened my eyes, as to how Making Lemonade could become more than just a podcast. So much so that, I believe this episode stepped up the standard I wanted to set for the podcast going forward.

2. #104 - Learn To Love Yourself and Love Your Art w/ The High Priestess From Venus - Em Rose (@ritual.44)
Em was by far one of my favourite guests, as she was so open and kind. She and I to sat down and spoke in such depth on her relationship with mysticism, the occult and her understanding of what creativity means to her.

3. #30. Be Kind To Yourself (On Suicide)
Ahmed best inspired episode #30 with the above tweet and video on “soulpancake’s” youtube channel titled “That Moment I Opened Up About Suicide”.
This was a poignant and game-changing episode for the show. This was the first-ever scripted and pre-planned episode I had done and it set up the show for what it is today. This is because it was one of the first times I had decided to be 100% vulnerable and bring to the show my history with mental health.
I spoke on my own suicide attempt and this opened a door for the show to go to a place of vulnerability, mysticism and my one obsession with personal development. Episode 30 was the beginning of showing others that life and creativity are one and the same and how we when we chose and learn how to change one we can change the other.
4. The Creative Hero’s Journey Series So Far (#95, #98, #105)
This series again was an evolution and stepping up of the standards that were set for Making Lemonade.
The way that episode 30 changed the landscape, this series (that has yet to be concluded) began a step in the direction and the heights that I never dreamed the podcast could go in.
This is a series in which I translated Joesph Campbell’s:” Hero’s Journey” into the creative’s journey and outlined the parallels in our own creative lives.
This was is that our listeners and myself could figure out where we are in our journey, to know where to head next.

5. #90. The Punk Rock of Comic Books & Making Gatekeeper Free Art! w/ Kieran Jack
In the time I have know Keiran Jack, he has gone from indie comics fan and illustrator to one of the most prolific, game-changing indie comics publishers in all of the Australian and New Zealand scene.
He has been on the podcast a handful of times and myself on his “The Halftone Effect” but his most recent appearance on Making Lemonade was one of the most value-driven, and eye-opening conversations I have sat down to have. Speaking on his predictions for the future of the indie comics industry and how focusing on crowdfunding and building his own indie comics empire has changed his life for good.
6. #56. The Creative and the Inner Child
Now, this is special.
This was one of our first creative-driven meditation episodes.
Fairly simple really, I took a meditation I do myself and spoke it out loud for the first time.
I decided to do this to help our audience come in contact with their inner child, to help you all find that inspiration and access that secret well of childlike inspiration that is inside us all.
“Logan” by Matt Comms
7. #55. What Could I Have Done Better? w/ Matt Comms (@mattcomms)
Matt comms is a quiet man.
He is a gentle soul and a good friend.
This episode I did with him, was a chance to get to know his creative philosophy and why it is he draws every day.
To my surprise, this is still one of my favourite episodes to date because Matt gave me one of my favourite creative philosophies, “What Could I Have Done Better?”
8. #100 - Why Artists Need A Creative Philosophy To Help You Make Better Art!
Episode 100 is just the cherry on the cake.
This episode is wall to wall value.
I asked 8 of my favourite previous guests to share their creative philosophies and why they create and these incredible individuals returned with 8 very different and awe-inspiring pieces of content that just allowed Making Lemonade’s one-hundredth episode to be soaked, no marinated in creative value and will be one of our more timeless episodes.
